I use several terminal programmes for PTC modems on Windows 7 Home Premium Edition without any problem.
My modem is PTC-IIpro. I use USB-RS232C Serial converter cable to connect PTC-IIpro and Windows 7 PC.
Driver software maybe provided from the converter cable manufactures.

We have a PTC-IIusb happily chatting away on our 64-bit Windows 7 HP desktop computer with no problem.

Hi,
I have used the USB version suscessfull on both Vista - Home and Windows 7 - Home.
The only thing that I have notices is that some USB to Serial converts, just don't work.
they show up in the com ports but can not access the device. Once I downloaded the USB driver from the website, all worked correctly on Windows 7
The best USB to Serial converters are made by FTDI
http://www.ftdichip.com/FTProducts.htm the will not change comports, igf you use a different USB port. Prolific works also on win 7, if you use their latest driver, date 2010. However, you use a different USB port, your comport changes also. FTDI has a dual converter, which give you 2 serial ports with one USB port. Great to control your transceiver

Hello Joe: I am just switching to windows 7, 64 bit. I have a PTCII-pro. I have an usb to serial conversion box. Did you need any drivers from pactor or just from the rs232 conversion box/cable provider? Did you also have to upgrade firmware on your PTCii-pro (mine is from 2004)?
