audio connection cable problem

Posted by siya at Apr 01, 2010 06:33 PM

hi to everybody

i have been a user of ptc-llpro on yaesu for 1 year. my audio connection is burned result of an accident. i ordered a new cable but it will arrive very l late (i live in Iraq, i am a Kurdish worker). and my work is stopped. now i want to make my cable. i have an 8pin cable( it is suitable to device's audio port) and a keyboard cable (which is suitable to yaesu's data port and has 6 pins). i cut both of them and now i have to join the cables but i don't know which one will be joined to which one.

i hope i could explain my problem. (my english is a little poor)

 best regards

what is your radio?

You need the pinout of your radios data port. You need a ohmmeter to identify the cable colors of each of your cable parts. Keyboard cables often dont carry all necesary wires - you should have 6 not only 4.

hi siya,

you should make connections as below:

modem    yaesu

pin-1 to pin-5
pin-6 to pin-3
pin-3 to pin-1
pin-4 to pin-9

Enjoy your work!
