I have the following?

Yaesu FT-897D Radio
Pactor PTC-IIex (with Pac 3 Upgrade)
USB to Serial connection from laptop to Pactor

When in FM mode on VHF trying to make a connection to an airmail station using Airmail on my laptop, I see the Pactor Send/PTT light flash but the radio won't transmit.  The radio will transmit when the radio is in DIG mode but in that mode I am unable to set an offset +600.  I have the radio, the computer, and the Pactor set for 9600baud.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You just need to put the radio in "PKT" mode.
